you are very welcome to ask for help. you told that your fascinate can not be identified by your PC, sometimes you should check your usb cable. if it can work wonderfully, try to check your device. your card in your phone.

Same problem with my phone and found this on the Samsung website…worked perfectly.
Here are the steps of how to transfer pictures from your PC via USB cable.
Press the Home Key
Press the Menu Key
Tap on Settings
Tap on USB settings, USB mode
Tap on Mass storage to connect as a portable hard drive device to a PC where an application such as Windows Explorer can detect the phone and allow the exchange of files
Press the Home Key
Plug the cable into the phone
Plug the other end of the cable in a USB port
Sweep down on the Notification bar and Tap USB connected-Select to copy files to/from the computer
Tap Mount
The PC will throw an option window. Click on Open folder to view files.
Navigate to the desired files to be transferred and either drag and drop them over or copy and paste them into the directories.

I found issue for everyone connecting to computer.
If you connect to computer and computer will not find phone, check on the phone pull down and if it is in usb debugging un plug usb from phone and click to dissable and re-attach usb cable. Worked for me. Good Luck

I also had the same problem. I was using an older USB2 cable that works for other devices but would not work with the Fascinate. I then used the heavier USB 2 cable that came with the phone and it worked fine.

Did not work at first, but switched cables and connected. Then had to pull down notification bar and select usb connection to complete process. Oh, also had to select OK on promt to auto download software from verizon. GL all.

ok, welcome here. do not despress yourself about this. commonly it was asked and complained more than 20 times. those Samsung experts perhaps have been dead to the world at their bureau since they are two busy. Unitl now, there is no better solution for users………….
we’d better check one by one of your device since we have no other better solutions. check your usb cable. someone said she tried another usb cable and it worked well.
Additionally, Android os device usually suffer from the incompatibility of third party apps like symbian device. reset your device and make sure there is no any third party app installed except the lastest and compatible usb driver. complete the installation then connect with your pc. tell us what it say!
hopefully, it do something useful……
