  • it seems that only applications that I downloaded can be removed. the ones that came pre-installed cannot be removed from what I can tell. Anyone have any other info?

  • yes it does…

  • Works fine on all apps on my phone. Must root your phone in order to remove apps (bloatware) that came pre-installed. i.e. blockbuster

  • How do you root your phone in order to remove pre-installed apps?

    Comment by Chief — November 4, 2010

  • Root your phone, do some reading, download ES file manager and remove only the apps that are said safe to remove.

Also, don’t remove them, just rename them. (They are all .apk files, just rename it to .apk.old)

This way if you have to update to Froyo you can.

  • oopps i mean no uninstall button

  • why is it that companys make it soooo difficult to manage what you own. they don’t own it so why is it that they want to dictate what you can and can’t have on your phone. I will take my phone, pay someone to remove the junk and then bill Verizon or Samsung. I have tried and tried to remove apps with no luck. they don’t evem all show up in ” manage apps”

  • sorry to hear that. you are the first one who have been troubled by the Samsung Fascinate cellphone.

    Comment by verizon-cellphones — June 13, 2011

  • i’m not having trouble with the phone, i love it but i want all those goofy apps out that i never wanted and were preinstalled

    Comment by john — June 13, 2011

  • This makes me really mad. I want to know why I cant uninstall all these stupid apps and why the phone forces me to use Bing. Basically the search button is useless because I &%#@ing hate Bing. Is this Samsung’s fault or Verizon’s. Im betting its Verizon.

    Comment by Jeff — June 30, 2011

  • That is such a load of CRAP. We are not the first ones to have problems with bloatware on the fascinate. You are absolutely justified inwanting only the programs you choose on a device that you own and paid for. Verizons warranties suck. Root your phone and hide the offending bloatware.

  • Troubling with bloatware on your Samsung Fascinate device? I fuck up Bing… really stupid..

    Comment by verizon-cellphones — August 14, 2011

  • is anyone who know how to root it… i want to fuck Bing on my Fascinate out…

    Comment by verizon-cellphones — August 14, 2011

  • have the same trouble, hate the bing and refuse to use it!!! i have not found a way to delete it or I would have already. I will only use google and i am surprised since it is a google based phone that it would let verizon use the bing crap!

Comment by joe in eldorado — November 17, 2011

  • yes..we all had been suffering from Bing. you never know something between verizon, microsoft and google………………you have no way to uninstall it properly since it is pro-installed app. you can uninstall these apps you downloaded and installed into your device named “the third party “app. well, you can reboot it to delete the bing away. someone said they got the success.

    Comment by verizon-cellphones — November 17, 2011

  • I too was unable to get rid of apps that appeared on my phone. There is no ‘uninstall’ in the ‘manage apps’.
