  • I have downloaded the sync software for the Rhyme 3.0.5581 and continue to get the following error messages: on the PC “no device connected” on the phone “HTC sync software not found please download” My husband has an Incredible 2 and has no problems syncing his phone to the computer. I have contacted HTC 3 times now and they told me there is nothing more they can do for me. Any assistance you offer would be appreciated. I have 9 days left to return this phone and it will have to be returned if I can’t get the sync feature to work.

  • ok, thanks for your questions since perhaps there are many users who’re suffering this.
well ,there is absolutely nothing wrong with your device, the issue in question might be the sync software 3.0.5581 edition. Your PC isn’t compatible with this edition so that it can’t recongize the sync software. In view of different edition, it is no doubt that your husband’s Incredible 2 has no problems with syncing. No one asked this trouble in HTC Community and Verizon Community. it shows this question isn’t so common. We have no best solutions in short times but only to suggest you check your PC hardware and software. If necessary and possible, you might as well upgrade.
We will endeavor to reach the best solutions. looking forward to your feedback!

  • I am having the same problem. I just purchased the HTC Rhyme from Verizon on Saturday. On my home laptop and my work PC I am receiving the “no device connected” error message. What can I do? I have to be able receive my work emails and sync my calendar to this phone. If not, liek Nicol Rolston, I will have to return the phone. Any suggestions? Please help.

  • tell us what is your pc os, Mac or Windows? this perhaps make difference.
in HTC community, someone shared you’d better uninstall the sync software that you’ve downloaded and installed and then reinstall it. as well, someone else said you have to checked whenther you can use these files in your momery card or not, if not, something wrong might come from your SD card.

  • I’m having the exact same problem as described about. I have the Incredible 2 and can connect to sync without any trouble. We just bought my wife the Rhyme and HTC Sync says “No device connected”. I’m running win vista

  • I am also having the same issues with the “no device connected” error msg. I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled several times and am not able to sync my phone to my laptop. I previously had a blackberry and this was not an issue. I am on Windows 7. Are there any known compatibility issues & a fix for it.

  • it is widely considered that the issue in question has lots of things to do with win7. try to connect your rhyme with another win xp pc. things might be different..
    anyway, i’ve done this.
